In 2009, Outlook Express ceased being operational, as it was first replaced by Windows Mail (included in Windows Vista) and later by Windows Live Mail (included in Windows Live Essentials). Nevertheless, if you are still using Outlook Express, you will find Outlook Express Mail Alert very useful.
This software will generate notifications when a new message arrives. New-mail notices may include sound, visual alerts or automatically start Outlook Express.
Outlook Express Mail Alert is very easy to configure. Just check the boxes according to your preferences. In this regard, you may choose to play a sound alert when there is a new message and also to issue alerts as long as there are unread messages in your inbox. You may also decide to start the program during Windows startup. Additionally, you can set frequency this program checks your Outlook Express inbox. The program automatically lists the existing mailboxes, so that you can check those you want to monitor.
Outlook Express Mail Alert is definitely an old program, which may be quite unnecessary nowadays, for most modern email clients include alerts on new mail arriving.

Jack P. The program works for me, which is a constant sound reminder. But is there any way to change the default sound. It's really kitschy! Thanks!
